Hi, I am Jan Hayner.
I am a Professional Organizer and a member of FaithFul Organizers (an Organizing Association with Christian Values) and their State of Wisconsin Representative.
I have been an Organizer for over 6 years: the first two I used for education in the field with a variety of organizers and reading every book that I could find on Professional Organizing. The next three I spent learning how to put a website on the internet, writing articles, pamphlets and books. This past year I have written presentations in all fields of organizing; Time Management, Paper and Record Management, Estate Planning and Organizing, Baby Boomer Tips and Hints, Organizing With My Family, Senior Citizens Can Remain Independent, My Last Wishes (workshop) are only a few of the ones that I offer. My presentations can be tailored to fit your needs.
I have lived and raised my family in Sheboygan County (Wisconsin); please check the link to Sheboygan on my links page (you will 'love' to visit my hometown).
I am the mother of four and grandmother of eight, so I am always looking for ways to organize things so they run smoothly. My garage would put Home Depot and Menards to shame, I own and 'use' every tool imaginable!
I have owned two businesses (both unrelated), been a member of the Falls Booster Club, a member of the Sheboygan Falls high School E4E (Education for Employment) Committee, a Campfire Leader, a Den Mother, Sunday School Teacher, did write-ups for the town (Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin) newspaper on Baseball, Football and Vollyball games and many more things that are too numerous to list
As you can see I have been involved with organizing things all of my life and consider it a great challenge when I accomplish a job.
I am also the type that, has to new and improve everything, make things simpler not harder and my goal is to save money wherever possible. I don't believe in wasting time and energy; if I can find a better way of doing things and still have the quality that I desire.
Plus, this eliminates stress on the entire family. Everything is in its place and you can find what you are looking for when you need it,the main goal is; you and your family will have more time to have FUN and enjoy the greater things in life.
After a crisis in my own family, I found out first hand how important it is to find all of the papers you need, numbers they ask for and important data that you didn't know was all that important. I was totally amazed at how many times you need a social security number, a policy number, a bank number and pieces of information that you didn't realize that anyone besides you would need to know.
Through the years of raising my children, in a very undersized house, I learned to use every available space and to ORGANIZE everything so it could be found on a moments notice. So, when I heard about the National Association of Professional Organizers and Faithful Organizers, I fit right in, I had been using some of their methods and techniques for years, I really thought that I invented them.
But, I have learned a lot from my colleagues and the meetings are truly full of new information and an answer to any question that I have is only a click away. I appreciate all of the help my fellow Organizers have given me through the years.
After a few years of learning from the best, I took a few years off to write some booklets on organizing that I could use for my clients to help them become ORGANIZED THE EASY WAY, I set up this website, wrote some articles for other websites and now I am back to organizing, doing presentations and enjoying every minute of it.
No matter what your organizing problem is; I have probably lived through it myself; I have gone through raising kids, had a home with married children moving back home, raised grandkids, lived with a hospice family member (3 times), raised my children while working out of the home, and so much more.
Everyone knows how they would love to have more time to do the things they 'want' to do, eliminate the stress of housework, home maintenance and holding a job, have an organized file system (especially at tax time) and not have to hunt for things around the house.
