Elderly Prayer to-those who care-Bless You
We all have family, friends or know of someone that does has an elderly person in their lives. Why is it that this person that has lived through generations and had patience through the years, can become neglected, ignored or placed as an outcast? It is something that happens in the world everyday. However, the ones that care, show compassion, understanding and empathy should be truley Blessed, by the 'Man' above!
Blessed are the Ones
1. Blessed are the ones, who stop and listen to my chatter. My memories are all I have to offer, but I love to talk to people, for I long for companionship, too.
2. Blessed are the ones, that take my hand and help me when the path is rough, for I easily stumble and grow weary. But, thank you too, for letting me walk alone when the path is smooth, for I do have pride.
3. Blessed are those that take the time to tell me about special happenings and events. I may not be able to be there, but this makes me feel included, informed and a part of your life.
4.Blessed are those that wait for me and have patience for my slowness. I am going as fast as I can and it is frustrating for me to cope with.
5.Blessed are those who are not ashamed to be seen in public with me. I want to be able to get out and enjoy life too.
6. Blessed are those who do not pity me, for I don't want your pity. All I want is understanding and respect.
7. Blessed are those who notice my accomplishments, small as they may be. I try to listen, learn and take part in life to the best of my ability.
8. Blessed are those that include me in their games, even though I may not understand the rules, I still like to be included in your activities and be a 'part' of things.
9. Blessed are those who think of me as a person who loves, hurts, and feels joy and pain. I am old, but my feelings are intact.
10. Blessed are those who care.
