How to Clean the Kids Room in 15 Minutes

What a site, you walk into the room and it is wall to wall toys, clothes on the bed, carpets and furniture and the bed isn't even made and it is 4:00 in the afternoon! Don't feel bad, this happens in more homes than just yours. We all run out of time in the morning, with having to get the kids ready for school, ourselves ready for appointments, work or whatever and we have to feed everyone too, it seems hopeless.
That is where the 15 minute tidy, comes in handy. Our home isn't dirty, it is just untidy and cluttered.
So, use the 15 minute' Kids Room tidy',
- Put everything that belongs in other rooms in a basket
- Throw all of the dirty wash in the laundry basket
- Hang anything that is clean, but lying around
- Throw all of the garbage in the garbage can
- Put all of the toys in the toy box or on the shelves. Don't be too fussy here, you aren't doing a 'clean, only a 'tidy'.
- Straighten the sheets and throw the coverlet or comforter over the bed and pillows.
- Wipe over the furniture using a throw away furniture wipe
- Use your sweeper to go over the carpeting or floor and pick up all of the crumbs.
- Spray the comforter, curtains and carpeting with fabric freshener
You have just done a 'tidy' and the kids room looks great. Now, teach the kids your new game of '15 Minute Tidy'. Write down the steps for them to follow, set the kitchen timer for 15 minutes and have them Beat the Clock!
