Winter Projects for Your Garage

Why is it that people think that they have to wait until spring to get a lot of the yard work done?

Half of the yard work that you need to do in spring, requires PRE-PLANNING.

NO, I don’t mean buying from the seed catalogues'!!!!
But that isn't a bad idea, why not plan your garden and flower beds ahead of the season and then you will be ready when those new catalogues start rolling in. We all know that certain plants thrive better when around other plants and that dirt can be mulched and enhanced with things like egg shells etc., so why not plan what you are going to do, where to plant it and at what time?

I mean…when the weather gets nice, you need to be out enjoying the weather and getting the yard done, so you can enjoy summer…RIGHT!

Well, you have the winter blahs now…..so why not get a start on spring?

What can you do???????????

Duh!!!!!Let me think!! Let's make a list of winter projects to do in your garage, so you can follow it every year.

These are overlooked items that can be done whenever you want to over the winter months.

1)      WD 40 all of the tools…shovels, rakes etc.

2)      Sharpen the lawnmower blades, clean it up and repaint if necessary

3)      Sharpen the tiller blades, chain saw, pruner, EVERYTHING!!!

4)      Sharpen your drill bits

5)      Clean your chisels

6)      Clean your putty knives

7)      Clean and repaint the wheelbarrow, tighten the handles, silicone the inside to help sliding, you can even use silicone on hard plastic.

8)      Tighten and repaint the lawn furniture

9)      Paint and repair all of the lawn ornaments

10)  Make new birdfeeders and planters

11)  Clean up and tighten the weed eater

12)  Sharpen the blades on the edger and tree trimmer

13)  Tighten and replace and paint the boards on the picnic table

14)  Repack and organize the camping gear

15)  Clean the camping trailer, do repairs, clean out the cupboards and refill as needed

16)  Replace all of the belts on equipment and tools

17)  Clean and WD 40 all fans and window air conditioners

18)  Coat the snow shovels with paste wax

19)  Put gripper handles on all of those garden tools and stop the blisters

20)  Color coordinate those tools so when someone borrows something you know which ones are yours

Just to name a few of the things that you can do! I haven't even started on how you can rearrange, repair and oil your garage items like auto supplies, insecticides bird seed, outdoor sprinklers etc.

Don't let your winter go to waste, get ready for the nice weather and have good working tools when it gets here.
